Booking and Contact

ShinDaiko specializes in live performances at public and private events in the Greater Boston area. We are also available to perform anywhere in the New England region. We offer two very distinctive and different types of performances that can be tailored specifically to your event.

Traditional/Festival

Taiko drumming has a long history in Japan as an integral part of daily life, religion, and festivals. Our set consists of traditional rhythms from different regions of Japan. Well-suited for lecture/demonstrations and workshops.

Contemporary

Compositions by present-day taiko professionals fuse different rhythms and instruments with the traditional drums to create a modern taiko performance. These pieces are usually quieter and more melodic, and suitable for more intimate events.

    Hi ShinDaiko!

I am an undergraduate at Harvard building a discovery website that makes helps Bostonians learn about music genres from around the world and find local events more easily. If possible, it would be great to chat with someone about what events ShinDaiko would like to promote and what input you might have for maximizing turnout (e.g. what sorts of audiences you’ve had in the past and who to promote events to). Please email me if someone has time to chat briefly. Thanks!
